As a Community Interest Company, Venturing Out CIC invests surplus profits to help sustain the delivery of our core community projects. We also raise investment through external funding bodies for specific pieces of work and offer NFP rates to community organisations.
All of our social aims are based around giving Adventurous Outdoor Activity Experiences to members of our community who may not normally benefit from the wide ranging benefits associated with such outdoor engagement.

Inclusive Activity Provision East Lothian
Venturing Out offer inclusive adventurous outdoor experiences for all. We believe that everyone, no matter what their ability, has much to gain from experiencing outdoor activities. One of our core aims is to offer regular provision of Adventurous Outdoor Activity within the county of East Lothian for our disabled community. We aim to begin a programme of activity for children with additional support needs in April 2018. For activity availability see here.
This work is supported by ELC Outdoor Learning Service.
Raising Attainment Outdoors
Attainment is both a national and local government priority. To tackle this issue we require innovative approaches. Not all children learn well in a classroom environment. We are currently delivering programmes in Prestonpans and Pinkie St Peter's Primary schools. This work is partly funded by ELC Area Partnerships aimed at raising the attainment of primary aged children who require stimuli beyond the classroom to learn effectively.
This programme is being delivered in partnership with ELC Outdoor Learning Service.
VOLT - Volunteer Outdoor Learning Team
In partnership with ELC Outdoor Learning Service, we are developing a volunteer team to help with the delivery of various activity throughout the year. VOLT members will be able volunteer for either organisation and are a key requirement to us meeting our ambition of inclusivity. If you believe that you could be an asset to the VOLT team and would like further information please get in touch.
